Software Engineer in Test – Ph.D. level
Calling all Ph.D. level Physicists, Mathematicians or Computer Scientists, who enjoy programming and problem-solving!
We are recruiting for a unique opportunity to work as a Software Engineer in Test on cutting edge technology! Location: Cambridge – hybrid working (minimum of 2 days in office each week)
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 basic plus a comprehensive benefits package
Requirements for Software Engineer in Test
- Either a Ph.D in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or similar OR a masters degree with relevant commercial experience
- Excellent academics throughout (2.1 or 1st class, at least ABB a A Level)
- Knowledge of an objected oriented programming language such as C++, Python, C# or Java
- Fantastic communication skills with excellent written and spoken English
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- A love of problem-solving and strong attention to detail
- Any test automation experience beneficial
Responsibilities for Software Engineer in Test
Working in an agile environment, this role includes a great deal of coding – people in the ‘Software Engineer in Test’ team write a similar amount of code as the Software Development team
Responsibilities include:
- Code automated tests and infrastructure
- Develop automated test suites
- Report bugs and working closely with the Developers to fix these
- Functional system and regression testing
- Work closely with multiple departments within the business
