A unique opportunity for a Senior / Lead WordPress Developer with good mentoring experience, to join a leading magazine. Offering a very exciting opportunity to take ownership of both the website along with current and upcoming features, while growing a team.

Location: Central London, UK – 3 days in office, 2 days remote

Salary: Negotiable – depending on the level of leadership experience you bring to the table + excellent benefits

Requirements for Senior /  Lead WordPress Developer:

  • Ideally, you will be degree-educated, but relevant experience also considered.
  • Highly proficient in WordPress
  • Excellent coding ability with HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
  • Bootstrap libraries knowledge
  • Experience in managing technical aspects of the Content Management System/CMS
  • Understanding how to integrate with third-party RESTful APIs and micro-services
  • Exposure to management and leadership – over time this role will grow into growing a team and leading junior developers
  • Brilliant communication skills – this role will involve dealing with internal and external teams and agencies
  • WordPress VIP, Mobile app development and/or Gutenburg editor knowledge would be a plus

Responsibilities for Senior / Lead WordPress Developer:

  • Work to create engineering best practices and policies
  • Develop and implement highly optimised and customisable WordPress VIP sites, including themes, page templates, widgets, plugins and content blocks
  • Ensure well-designed, easily maintainable code using HTML5, CSS and native JS
  • Use the latest Gutenberg editor capabilities to create scalable WordPress editing experiences
  • Ensure optimum performance, speed, and security of the website
  • Maintain all aspects and updates for the site
  • Report and update the senior management team
  • Over time you will grow your team to include Junior Developer
