A unique opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer to join an industry-leading software company in Cambridge, UK. This fantastic position will be responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining the company’s network infrastructure, whilst advising and supporting the business on a 3rd line basis.
Location: Cambridge, UK – hybrid role, 2 days a week in Cambridge
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum + excellent benefits
Requirements for Senior Network Engineer:
- Prior background in network engineering roles.
- Proficiency in network basics and routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and multicast.
- Capability to plan and manage datacenters, as well as WAN, campus, and cloud networks.
- A proven track record of implementing high-reliability computer networks for large-scale industrial (preferably related to automation) applications.
Responsibilities for Senior Network Engineer:
You will join the infrastructure division within a leading software house. This will involve working on a range of technologies such as Juniper, Ubiquiti, IPSec, Ansible and Git:
- Strategize, construct, and oversee network infrastructure and cloud solutions.
- Develop a self-reliant network architecture.
- Implement, set up, and consistently evaluate wireless range and quality.
- Offer and recommend networking insights, direction, and enhancements.
- Embrace a security-centric approach and adhere to industry best practices.
- Engage in team meetings, contributing viewpoints, concepts, and recommendations.
- Provide advanced user support as an emerging networking specialist in a third-tier role.
