IT Support Engineer

A unique opportunity for a First or Second-line IT Support Engineer to work for a fast-growing Technical Support provider for both home and business customers. Having seen a huge upturn in business due to the pandemic this offers an excellent opportunity to grow and develop within a IT Engineering capacity.

Location: Kings Lynn – on-site, with some travel to customers (max 2 hours away)

Salary: £17,000 – £27,000 depending on experience

Requirements depending on 1st or 2nd Line Technical level

  • College student or recent college graduate in computer science, IT, or a related field of study.
  • At least one year of previous help desk, technical call centre, or IT service desk experience providing phone-based support.
  • Experience working in help desk ticketing platforms/systems, ability to type and document notes in real-time while engaged with the customer on the phone.
  • Ability to work successfully as part of a team.
  • Full clean UK driving license
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with at least some of the following: Microsoft Office / Microsoft Server / Active Directory / Exchange / Windows / DNS / Anti-virus technologies / Networking / Servers

Typical Responsibilities depending on level of support.

  • Answering incoming help desk customer calls.
  • Resolving desktop support issues with clients.
  • Receiving, responding, and following up with service requests and service tickets.
  • Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support to our customers
  • Monitoring customers infrastructure via RMM solution
  • Following escalation procedures to ensure Service Level Agreements are met
  • Managing customer issues through to closure
  • Identifying recurring outages and trends
  • Providing ongoing documentation and improvement of processes
  • Attending customers’ sites when necessary
  • The installation, configuration, and upgrade of operating systems and software.
  • The installation, assembly, and configurations of computers, network infrastructures and peripherals.
  • Troubleshooting problems with computer systems, including hardware and software; e-mail; networks; and peripheral equipment.
