IT Support Engineer

A brilliant opportunity to work as an IT Support Engineer, supporting the infrastructure for an industry-leading software house with offices in London and Cambridge, UK. Ideally suited to a candidate with industry experience within an IT Support role or a Graduate with a sandwich placement.

Location:  London or Cambridge office (depending on your preference)

Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum + pension and private healthcare

Requirements for IT Support Engineer:

  • Previously worked in a similar first-line IT support role – at least 6 months of commercial experience
  • A minimum of a 2.2 in a degree with content relating to IT, networking, or systems administrator
  • At least CCC at A-Level (or equivalent UCAS points)
  • An interest in supporting IT Infrastructure
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Organised with the ability to work both with autonomy and as part of a team
  • Great communication skills with fluent spoken and written English
  • Any experience with the following would be beneficial: macOS, Windows, Ubuntu, networking including LAN and WAN, firewalls, Active Directory or Microsoft Exchange

Responsibilities for IT Support Engineer:

This is a fast-paced and exciting role, offering global first line IT Support for an international software company including:

  • Resolve technical issues through phone, email and remote support
  • Support end user issues, and escalate when necessary
  • Troubleshoot across Windows, Linux and MacOS
  • Liaise with 3rd party software providers to reach resolution on issues
  • Support project work
  • Help with the IT onboarding process for new users and leavers
  • Active Directory / Microsoft Exchange administration
  • Basic troubleshooting of networking including LAN/WANs, firewalls and switches
