Graduate FPGA Engineer

A unique opportunity for a Graduate or experienced FPGA Engineer to join an industry-leading security consultancy based in Derbyshire, responsible for developing critical cybersecurity solutions for both Government organisations, and other providers. Offering a brilliant opportunity to use your engineering skills to contribute in a positive way, while working on an interesting array of challenging, bespoke projects.

Location: Derby – Due to the security nature of this role it is 5 days on site.

Salary: £25,000 – £45,000 per annum (DOE) + excellent benefits

Requirements for Graduate FPGA Engineer:

  • Great academics with a focus on FPGA Engineering from either your academics or an industry placement
  • Experience with VHDL for FPGA development.
  • Experience with HDL simulation tools
  • Keen interest in security (you don’t need prior experience)
  • Any experience on the following technologies would be beneficial: Verilog / System Verilog / TCL scripting / Xilinx / cryptography
  • Due to the nature of the role, this client requires the applicant to be in a position to obtain high-level security clearance, therefore, can only accept applications from British Citizens who can obtain DV security clearance once they have started working (i.e. lived in UK for past 10 years, no criminal record etc)

Responsibilities for Graduate FPGA Engineer

  • Testing and development of new and innovative products
  • Use VHDL to develop and test FPGA modules for critical – high assurance applications.
  • Design test procedures
  • Collaborating within a team to contribute to FPGA module development, which involves defining and coordinating interfaces for both internal and external components, along with creating new Test-Bench modules to ensure proper functionality.
  • Work closely within a highly collaborative team
